Thanks to mandatory US Civics in HS, the ear-worm songs of Schoolhouse Rock and, more recently rly Hamilton, and a 60-year love affair with American history, this little test was a breeze.

My ancestors came to the US from Germany between 1869 and 1889, and all were naturalized at the end of their 5-year probation. And, although for most that took place before 1906 when this test was begun, I know of at least four earlier arrivals who re-naturalized after 1906, and would have taken a similar test.

I could not be any more proud 🥹 of them all.

Quite pleased with this Canadian! I scored 76 out of 96 questions, giving me a passing score of 79% (I eliminated the 4 that had to do with knowing who my local representatives were).

Perhaps it helps that I grew up in Windsor, Ontario--practically the 51st state 😊
